Corners and seams where two pieces come together should get a light application of caulk to hide the crack.
Any excess should be wiped away before painting to avoid imperfections and bumps along the seams.
Place the molding with adhesive up to the wall or area you are installing the molding to.

Install the corner moulding and panel.
Purchase one or two extra baseboards in case of cutting mistakes.
If you are a beginner add six inches or more to your total measurement to give yourself some leeway.

If you see some cut a few braces from 4 to 6 in.
First hold the base molding against the wall after you cut it to length and look for gaps.

The solution is to apply a thin bead of panel adhesive or construction adhesive and then tack the molding to the wall with a nail gun.
Comments will need approval before they show up.
Firmly press into place and hold tightly against the wall and lift off for one to three minutes before pressing back into place.
Cut any fixture openings.
Use any readily available brand of standard caulk in conjunction with a caulking gun to apply a thin line along any joints in the molding.
Then apply construction adhesive at the top and bottom.
